Back in the 1870’s Surfers Paradise started life as a farming area then, over the years it became more and more a tourist attraction. Today it is considered to be the holiday capital of Australia.
It is the major hub of the Gold Coast, hosting national and international events, cultural and sporting events as well as being home to the largest nightclub district in Queensland and one of the largest in Australia.
Surfers Paradise is endowed with luxurious facilities catering to all tastes and pockets and boasts a beautiful beachfront and amenities recognized a being equal to anything in the world.
ISLE OF CAPRI
A small island on the Nerang River located between Surfers Paradise and Bundall.

Mermaid Beach with its beautiful beaches and oceanfront is a trendy yet peaceful location indeed. It is bounded to the west by the canals of adjacent Mermaid Water and to the east by the Pacific Ocean.
Mermaid Beach receives its name from the cutter HMS Mermaid. Explorer John Oxley sailed aboard the Mermaid in 1823 when he discovered the nearby Tweed and Brisbane rivers.
Hedges Avenue, Mermaid Beach has become perhaps the most expensive residential address on the Gold Coast where houses frequently sell from $ 5 million and above.
Attractive beachside Gold Coast suburbs –originally home of beachside holiday shacks but now the accommodation has been is extensively renovated with attractive modern apartments and beachside houses. Both suburbs have lovely beach ocean front facilities and magnificent beaches. Nobby Beach has its feature, Nobby Hill which gives magnificent northerly views up the coastline. Some trendy shops and restaurants serve the local resident and holidaymaker.
The suburb boundary extends as far north as Miami Headland, Miami and as far south as Tallebudgera Creek, Palm Beach.To the west, is the township of West Burleigh, with shopping and industrial areas, and Burleigh Waters, a suburb with a man-made lake, council parks and gardens. The centre of the neighborhood is James Street, which consists of cafes, delis, hairdressers, retailers, chemists and restaurants.
Burleigh Heads' surf break attracts surfers from the Gold Coast and beyond. At the headland of Burleigh, locally known as "The Point", barbecues and cricket matches are held, and spectators can watch the surfers in action. We will stop at Burleigh Heads for a 5 minutes Photo shot break.
Tallebudgera Creek located in the Gold Coast is approximately 25 km long and highly popular with fishermen, surfers and boaties. A beautiful location indeed and highly popular with weekend visitors. The Creek flows north by east through lovely Tallebudgera Valley where it is crossed by the Gold Coast Highway. The mouth is south of Burleigh Heads National Park. The area encompasses an extensive canal system with its upmarket housing. The first bridge across the Creek was built in 1926. We will stop at Tallebudgera Creek for a 5 minute photo shot break.
Palm Beach is located between Tallebudgera and Currumbin which has been 3 times voted the cleanest beach in Queensland. Streets along the highway are named from first to twenty-eighth starting at the southern end of the area and each second one terminates at the highway. Between the beach and the highway in the southern part of the area the narrow Jefferson Lane can be found. In this lane are some of the earliest and most basic of Gold Coast beach "shacks", some on blocks of land valued in millions of dollars. Many now demolished and replaced with beachside mansions. Palm Beach now has a very trendy retail area with bars and restaurants a plenty. The area is bounded to the north by the Tallebudgera Creek and the national recreation camp and to the south by tower developments at the mouth of Currumbin Creek.
In 1904 the first land subdivision was advertised in Currumbin and by 1910 tourism and industry increased on the beach side and in the Valley areas
Currumbin is known for its beautiful beaches and safe swimming areas and in 2013 gained the award for Australia’s cleanest beach.
At the beach front Elephant Rock and Currumbin Rock enclose a popular surfing beach while Currumbin Allley is popular with surfers. A great view of the high rise towers of Surfers Paradise shimmering in the distance. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the Gold Coast’s most popular tourism spots. We will stop at Currumbin for a 5 minute photo shot break.
Coolangatta is Queensland's most southerly coastal town, the gateway to the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales. Located on the border near its twin town of Tweed Heads 100kms south of Brisbane and 900kms north of Sydney, Coolangatta is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing holiday tempered with the excitement of the Gold Coast just minutes away. A wide variety of accommodation is available ranging from budget to luxury apartments with ocean views.We also see Greenmount and Rainbow Bay and stop for a 5 minute photo shot break at Greenmount lookout. Fast growing Gold Coast Airport is located at Bilinga, just north of Coolangatta.
Coolangatta has a shared economy with NSW neighbor Tweed Heads which is at the mouth of the Tweed River.
Duranbah Beach, officially known as Flagstaff Beach, is the northernmost beach in N.S.W. Duranbah Beach is situated between the mouth of the Tweed River and the rocky headland Point Danger which also marks the Queensland-New South Wales border.
It is well known by surfers for its surf break and large swell, it is recognised both nationally and internationally as having a powerful, high-quality surf break for both surfers and bodyboarders . Surfing events have been staged there including the QuickSilver Pro Gold Coast the professional surfing contest. We will stop for a 15 minutes break overlooking the beach.
